Multi-Site Network Infrastructure & Security Installation for a Defense Contractor in Langhorne, PA

When a defense contractor rapidly expanded into three industrial facilities in Langhorne, PA, they needed more than just a cabling contractor. Building Critical Infrastructure Across Three Industrial Facilities

This project involved three separate industrial facilities, each with unique requirements and varying levels of complexity.

Small Facility – Approximately 10,000 Square Feet

The first facility featured 22-foot ceilings and required a complete security and network infrastructure buildout.

Bridge Cable installed:

• 8 Verkada security cameras
• 1 Verkada multi-sensor camera
• 2 complete door access control systems
• 1 Verkada alarm system with motion detection
• Complete MDF (Main Distribution Frame) creation
• Custom dock bay door solutions for alarm integration and access control

This site also required close coordination with a large union general contractor and union electrical contractor to ensure all systems were installed correctly and on schedule.

Medium Facility – Approximately 30,000 Square Feet

The second facility included approximately 10% office space and required network connectivity throughout the building.

Bridge Cable provided:

• 8 Verkada security cameras covering interior and exterior areas
• Complete Verkada alarm system
• Four-door Verkada access control solution
• Wireless access point (AP) wiring throughout the facility
• Complete MDF creation

The finished system provided reliable network connectivity, security monitoring, and controlled access throughout the facility.

Large Facility – Approximately 100,000 Square Feet

The largest and most complex site featured 36-foot ceilings and approximately 30% office space.

Bridge Cable designed and installed:

• More than 450 CAT6 network drops
• 32 Verkada security cameras
• 16 Verkada multi-sensor cameras (50% of total camera count)
• Complete Verkada alarm system
• Wireless access point wiring throughout the facility
• Complete Verkada access control system
• More than 16 secured doors utilizing MAG-locks, electric strikes, and dedicated power supplies
• Complete MDF creation
• Four IDF (Intermediate Distribution Frame) locations
• Custom Great Lakes NEMA enclosures for each IDF
• Data cabinets and ladder tray systems
• APC battery backup systems

To support the facility’s operational requirements, Bridge Cable also installed approximately 6,000 feet of armored fiber optic cable utilizing redundant pathways to maximize reliability and minimize potential downtime.

The Challenge: Building the Network Before the Plans Were Finished

One of the most unique aspects of this project was the timeline.

The client needed to become operational within days of securing the leases for their facilities. In many cases, Bridge Cable began infrastructure work when only a small portion of the project plans had been finalized.

At one point, the team started cabling with only about 25% of the building blueprints available.Due to the speed of expansion this was a creation of a network with a “living” blueprint. It required fast change orders and project management that was nimble.

Instead of waiting for every detail to be finalized, Bridge Cable worked in constant collaboration with the client, adapting the network design as the facilities evolved. Network layouts, equipment locations, access control requirements, and security needs were refined in real time as the client’s vision for each building took shape.

This flexibility allowed the client to continue moving forward without sacrificing quality, security, or functionality.

Working Around Active Operations & Strict Security Requirements

Unlike many commercial installations that take place in empty buildings, these facilities were active from the beginning.

Employees, equipment, and machinery were already operating throughout the buildings while installation work was taking place. Bridge Cable’s technicians had to coordinate their work around ongoing operations while maintaining productivity and safety.

• Security clearances for personnel working on-site
