Fiber Optical Cabling Install, Fusion Splice and Tipping Specialist

Pay Rate
$25.00 to $28.00 per hour
Responsibilities
- Lead a team to install from start to finish fiber optic cabling across various brands
- Fusion splice fiber optic cabling when needed
- Troubleshoot any errors and/or outages across various brands
- Execute daily and project close deliverables
- Assist in cross training existing and future team members
- Bringing all personal tools and gear at the beginning of your shift to ensure you are prepared for all challenges, ladders included.
- Identifying potential change order opportunities and documenting accordingly
- Identifying any potential delays or project needs consisting but not limited to needed gear, man power change, map changed or other trade delays/deadlines
- Adapting to different clientele and job environment changes day to day
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Presenting yourself in a professional and clean manner both physically and verbally
- Execute proper testing using OTDR Meters and Certifiers
- Identifying your teams strength and weaknesses to properly delegate tasks daily
- Taking accountability for not only your individual work but the work of your team
- Reflecting customer service skills to the end client when applicable
- Must follow Bicsi Standards – pulling methods included
Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License AND Reliable Vehicle
- Ability to travel with a 6ft ladder
- Ability to go up and down ladders
- Ability to lift, bend, push, pull etc up to 50 lbs
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening requirements
- Ability to work at fully extended height on lifts (scissor/boom)
- Experience in Single Mode and Multi Mode Fiber Installs
- Ability to properly tip fiber
- Ability to properly test fiber
- Experience in large installs of at least 50+ cables
- Experience in data and voice CAT6 installations.
- Must be teachable and willing to learn all aspects of low voltage and expanding your knowledge
- Conduit Bending
- Must supply your own cordless drill and hand tools
- Must be authorized to work in the US
